I pay HUGE finder's fees to anyone who can get me items I want. Whether its via phone, email, in person, or even just a link from your website to mine, if you find what I'm looking for, you will be paid.

Word of mouth and referrals are my most valued sources of buying movie items. So, to ensure I keep getting them, I pay higher finder's fees than anyone for vintage movie items I want.

While 78s are fragile and tend to warp as well as do other things they're not supposed to, there are ways to get them into better shape.

For warped 78 rpms, place them between two sheets of glass. I don't recommend putting any additional pressure on them, though. Leave like this until they're less warped.

If the label of you 78s are dusty or dirty, use a dry brush to clean them. Don't ever use water! This can cause the label to bubble, diminishing the value of your 78 rpm.

For washing the records themselves, don't ever use alcohol or heavy abrasives. A soft soapy mixture is best. Make sure to not go against the grooves when cleaning the record.

You'll need a few things to play your old 78 records.

• A turntable that can handle variable speed adjustments with a range of 50 to 90 rpm.
• A quality tone arm and special styli that have been made especially for playing 78s

You must be very careful when shipping 78 rpms via the mail. Unlike CDs (and even vinyl records), 78s are very fragile and break easily.

78 rpm Shipping Tips

• Place the 78 rpm in between two pieces of currogated cardboard (alternating the direction the ribs are running) and tape this securely.
• Place this into a box with an inch or two space around the whole thing. Make sure you use packing peanuts all around the 78 rpm.
